This guide shows how to sharpen anvil pruners quickly and correctly – step by step.

How to do it
- Make sure the blade meets the anvil (counter surface) – otherwise you have bypass pruners
- Open the pruners fully to access the blade
- Place the sharpener on the edge and follow the existing bevel
- File along the blade until the edge becomes even and clean
- Make light passes on both sides to remove the burr
