How to sharpen anvil pruners
- Make sure the blade cuts against the lower anvil. If not, you have bypass pruners
- Open the pruners as wide as possible to access the blade
- Place the diamond sharpener against the edge and follow the existing bevel
- File along the edge until it becomes smooth and slightly shiny
- Lightly run the sharpener over both sides to remove the burr
Result
When sharpened correctly, you get:
- Less effort when cutting
- Cleaner cuts
- Reduced wear on the pruners
